Sustainability Ain't Hard

Check out this great, simple solution.  Using solar panels to not only collect light and make electricity in the middle of Downtown Atlanta, but also providing shade for people parking under it.  2-for-1!

Recent polls show that it's not the tree-huggers that are into solar.  Most people installing solar for their homes are doing it because it's saving them money.  Whatever your reason might be, it's a good idea.  Check out the infographic.

Living in a Bathroom to Save Money

Imagine if you ran out of money and all you could afford to rent was a bathroom in someone's house.  What if you were so down-and-out that you had to live in the bathroom with roommates!!!  What a nightmare...or maybe a new web series :)

Coming SOON.

Influential artist Moebius passed away

Growing up, I always looked forward to getting my hands on comics and
stories created by Jean Henri Gaston Giraud aka Moebius. If not in
pages of Heavy Metal magazine, then in books like "The Elsewhere
Prince", I saw his genius over and over again. His artwork and ideas
influence me and my work to this day because it's a mix of science
fiction, fantasy and reality.

Take for instance, "The Long Tomorrow," a gritty, sexy, noir detective
story which is said to have inspired Ridley Scott, George Lucas and
others. Originally published in Heavy Metal magazine during 1976, you
can still track down a compiled graphic novel published by Marvel of
all people on Ebay.

Going Wireless

Wireless lens control is quickly becoming really popular on film and TV sets. Essential when using car mounts, jibs, Steadicam and various other types of rigging where the AC can't touch the camera during a shot.

ARRI makes a wonderful system that is actually integrated directly into an Alexa Plus or Studio camera. Other cameras can work off a small box called the UMC-3. You can see a wireless in action here on a Alexa EV with an Alura Zoom lens.

Did you know that wireless tech for cameras was inspired by Radio Controlled cars, airplanes and helicopters? See www.rccaraction.com for all the latest R/C toys for the geek in you.
